Latest figures released by the HSE show that there has been an increase in workplace fatalities between April 2010 and March 2011. While it is traditional for injury rates to increase coming out of a recession, there is concern that the implications of HSE budget cuts and a reduction in workplace inspections could mean that this marks the start of an upwards trend.
